Delta flight attendant injured during aircraft collision
A flight attendant was injured after a ground collision between two Delta planes at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
The airline described it as a ‘low-speed collision’ between two regional jets.
The two aircraft were operated by Delta regional affiliate Endeavor Air.
“Two Delta Connection aircraft operated by Endeavor Air were involved in a low-speed collision during taxi,” a Delta spokesperson said.
“Delta will work with all relevant authorities to review what occurred as safety of our customers and people comes before all else.”
It happened at night as one was departing while the other had just landed.
There was a total of 85 passengers on the two planes.
The wing of the one of the aircraft stuck the fuselage of the other.
The injury to the flight attendant hasn’t been disclosed but is not life threatening.
No passengers were injured.
Due to the timing of the incident the departing passengers were accommodated in hotels and were rebooked for flights on Thursday.
