Desperate Scots target Aussie chicks

Monday, 21 Dec, 2006 0

In what appears to be a desperate attempt to marry off their male population and send them to Australia (it has kind of been done before and was called deporation!), Scotland’s national tourist board, Visit Scotland has launched a “Date a Hot Scot” sweepstake exclusively for single women around the world

Claiming to be a country that is romantic, rugged, beautiful to look at, brimming over with culture and they say that they are not just talking about the country of Scotland, but the legendary Bravehearts of Scotland, Australian ladies are being given an exclusive opportunity to win a dream trip to discover the beautiful country of Scotland and to meet some of these hot Scots

Girls, just remember, would you go out or even marry a man who wears a skirt

Visit Scotland’s latest sweepstakes www.dateahotscot.com will be open for entry from Valentine’s Day until March 2007, but the competition to be a hot Scot has already begun.

James Robinson (25) who played the young William Wallace aka Braveherat in Mel Gibson’s legendary film has been being shortlisted, saying, “I’m sure there’ll be some tight competition, but I’d be delighted to be one of the Hot Scots and be able to tell everyone about everything I love about Scotland!”  Others short listed included rugby heartthrob Thom Evans and 21st Century Kilt Model, Chris Capaldi – yes it says Kilt Model!

Long been known for its romantic history, its myths and stunning scenery, it appears that the country’s 450,000 single men are also an attraction for visitors to Scotland, particularly when teamed with the accent, sense of humour and kilts that are renowned across the world – see they do wear skirts

www.dateahotscot.com  offers girls the opportunity to win a trip to Scotland with a friend – of you win, perhaps you should take your Aussie boyfriend (!) and will offer suggestions for places to go and things to do to improve your chances of meeting hot Scots, described by their PR person as “from the chic bars and clubs of Edinburgh and Glasgow and the lively pubs of the Highlands; to the adrenaline-filled experiences of adventure sports like white water rafting and rock climbing, the fun-filled long summer days of the Northern isles and some of the world’s greatest arts, music and food festivals.”

So, whether it’s a young farmer from the highlands, a country laird from Perthshire, a burly rugby player from the Borders, a kilted musician from the lowlands or a suave city type, Visit Scotland says that www.dateahotscot.com will give every girl the opportunity to seek out the man of her dreams or perhaps their nightmares – remember the skirt and what’s wrong with Aussie guys – please don’t answer that!
