Despite troubles, MAS still a top choice for economy class travel

Despite deep financial troubles and its reputation taking a battering after two disasters, Malaysia Airlines still rates highly for overall economy class service, according to a new survey.

The troubled airline came fifth in a list of the world’s best carriers for economy service.

A list of the top 20 best long haul airlines was compiled by Business Insider based on airline reviewer Skytrax and analysing on-time performances from Flightstats.com.

Singapore Airlines, regularly voted among the world’s best came top with flawless scores for cleanliness, in-flight entertainment and service.

In fifth place Malaysian scored 83 out of 100 for on-time performance.

Two-thirds of the top 20 in the list are Asian or Middle East-based carriers but no North American airlines made the cut.
