Destination Ontario launches UK tourism campaign
Destination Ontario is launching a consumer marketing campaign in the UK and Germany to highlight Ontario travel experiences now that the borders have reopened.
The ‘Discover Together’ campaign will run until mid-December 2021 targeting the Visiting Friends & Relatives tourism segment by spotlighting British and German expats living in Ontario as spokespeople for the destination.
The campaign showcases their excitement about reconnecting with loved ones who have been separated by the pandemic, and finally being able to show them Ontario.
Discover Together strives to tug at the heartstrings and makes dreaming about a trip to Ontario a hopeful experience, inspiring travellers with loved ones in the destination to book their visit.
Debra Mansillo, Vice-President, Industry Relations & International Marketing at Destination Ontario said: "Capitalising on the pent-up demand for travel, we hope this campaign will increase awareness of the province and in turn lead to bookings for our trade partners, who have stood by the destination during this tough time for the industry."
Discover Together will roll out across digital and social platforms with content partnerships in the press that will direct consumers to a new market-specific landing page – destinationontario.com/uk
It highlights reasons to visit Ontario, things to do, places to visit and road trip itineraries.
It includes a custom page featuring a curated list of bookable tour operator packages while visuals focus on activities.
