Dirt cheap but do you really want to stay there?

It’s an unfriendly list but TripAdvisor released its “Top 10 Dirtiest Hotels in the US,” based on cleanliness ratings posted by visitors to the web site.

At the top of the list: the Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. That hotel told CNN they are under new management.

Others were skeptical of the source.

The No. 3 hotel — the Desert Inn Resort in Daytona Beach — said in a statement:

"TripAdvisor has remarks that can be placed by anyone. We believe over 70 percent of the reviews are falsified due to the fact their description of the hotel does not match the Desert Inn."

Here’s the list:

1. Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center – Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

2. Jack London Inn – Oakland, California

3. Desert Inn Resort – Daytona Beach, Florida

4. Hotel Carter – New York City, New York (making its third appearance on the list, BTW)

5. Polynesian Beach & Golf Resort – Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

6. Atlantic Beach Hotel – Miami Beach, Florida

7. Rodeway Inn – Williamsville, New York

8. Super 8 Estes Park – Denver, Colorado

9. Palm Grove Hotel and Suites – Virginia Beach, Virginia

10. Econo Lodge Newark International Airport – Elizabeth, New Jersey
