Disney app takes the pain out of waiting lines at parks

The worst thing about visiting Disney theme parks just got a little more bearable.

Disney is hoping time will fly when those long lines for rides seem to be endless.

It is turning to gamification with a new app to keep those impatient kids occupied to ‘turn wait time into play time.’

The Play Disney Parks app unlocks ‘all-new interactive experiences and activities’ by offering themed games while waiting for certain rides at Disneyland and Magical Kingdom.

It has been designed for families to play together, Disney says.

It debuted with games for ‘Playset Party’ at Toy Story Mania! in Disney California Adventure park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, ‘Off to Neverland’ at at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, ‘Rocket Race’ at Space Mountain at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, and ‘Andy’s Boardgame Blast!’ at the Slinky Dog Dash rollercoaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

For Apple Music subscribers, the app also offers curated playlists inspired by Disney characters and attractions and they can add their favorite Disney tracks direct to their Apple Music library from within the app.

The app will offer more experiences over time including those themed on the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attractions from next year.
