Disney is definitely in the dream business…………..

Disney Parks have always been the place where dreams come true and with 2007 being the Year of a Million Dreams, a visit to the Disneyland Resort in California is more magical than ever before.

What Disney does so well is immerse adults and children alike in Disney storytelling and many find that the fantasy begins to become reality.

Cast members on special assignment as the Disney Dream Squad are making literally millions of dreams, large and small, come true for eligible Disneyland Resort guests, providing many money-can’t-buy experiences, ranging from exclusive Dream FASTPASSES for popular Disney attractions, even to around-the-world vacations or a stay in the special Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel—are being awarded at random.

Other possibilities include collectible Year of a Million Dreams Mouse Ears (unavailable in stores), Disney Cruise Line vacations, and shopping sprees in Disneyland Resort shops and in addition, there are “Dream-Come-True” opportunities available to all guests to meet and play with Disney Princesses, duel with Darth Vader, join a band of pirates or show their school spirit in the High School Musical Pep Rally.

The Year of a Million Dreams is also highlighted at Disneyland Resort by the arrival of two new attractions, both built on the foundations of longtime favorites, with on May 25, as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End opened in theaters nationwide and Tom Sawyer Island in Frontierland witnessed the arrival of pirate hoards.

Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island [Pictured left] has enhanced the existing island attractions with new characters, ghosts and activities giving the island a strong buccaneer flavor and over in Tomorrowland, as you know, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage opened on June 11, bringing a new story and a variety of new entertainment and special effect technologies to an attraction inspired by the original Disneyland Submarine Voyage, which opened in 1959 and was retired in 1998.

It was here that The Mole became a “cast member” for an hour and was able to make at least one dream come true for one family from White Rock, British Colombia, who had visited Disneyland for special family holiday.

Jim, a supermarket manager and Debra a tax administrator and their two children Carly and Riley [pictured right] had enjoyed a pretty full on day going on all the rides, but had realised that they were a day too early for the going on the new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

They had also realised I am sure that the lines the rest of their week stay would be horrendous [they were actually seven hours long the day after the opening!]

Little did they know though that The Mole could fulfill their dream of getting on the Finding Nemo ride and not only that, getting on it as VIP’s before it opened to the public.

How?

Well in the true magic of Disney, all the Aussie and Kiwi journos at Disneyland had been given a free dream pass to take a family of the journos choice on the Finding Nemo ride as VIP’s before it opened to the public, fulfilling a dream that would otherwise not be attainable.

There is no doubt that Debra, Jim, Carly and Riley loved it [Inside the sub is pictured left] and I am sure they will speak for some time about this strange Aussie coming up to them and saying do you want to go on a pre opening Finding Nemo ride?

Well done to Disney for providing the opportunity.

All part of the magic of Disney!
