Disneyland’s new annual pass aims to ease overcrowding
With an eye on better managing visitor capacity ahead of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s edge opening, Disneyland Resort is introducing a new annual pass.
The Flex Pass will go on sale May 21 for $599 and as the name suggests, offers more flexibility than some of its other annual passes.
However, for most weekends and during the busy summer months, an advance reservation is required.
It is valid for visits to both Disneyland and California Adventure.
Pass holders must book their date of visit on Disneyland’s website or mobile app and dates will be capacity controlled so last minute reservation attempts for busy days could be knocked back.
There is a blackout for the two-week Christmas and New Year period but there are no restrictions and no reservations required for most Mondays to Thursdays, known as ‘Good to Go’ days.
"We are trying to smooth demand," said Annika Chase, marketing and commercial strategy VP.
Disneyland’s other annual passes range from $399 for a Select Pass with a huge number of blackout days, up to the $1399 unrestricted Signature Plus pass.
