Doggone lost dogs
The first lost dog was a 30-pound Whippet, a star of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show who bounded out of her crate after her Delta Airline flight arrived in New York City.
Viva was never found despite weeks of effort that included psychics.
Now Delta has a second incident of a lost dog.
This one was a tiny English bulldog who was supposed to arrive last week to be claimed by its new owner in Bozeman, Montana.
But airline officials in Montana knew nothing of the dog. It turned out the pooch, traveling in a small crate from New York City, missed a connecting flight. The dog was delayed 24 hours, arriving dehydrated and frightened.
“We all know how easily airlines can lose suitcase…but a real, live puppy?” asked the New York Daily News.
The owners were not happy. They vowed not to fly Delta again.
As for the airline, it is doing an investigation.
