Dolce hotels claims creative team-building events
Meeting planners who place a high value on team building might want to take a closer look at the Rockleigh, New Jersey-based Dolce hotels, which operates 25 upscale hotels, resorts and conference-focused properties through North America and Europe.
"Each of Dolce’s 25 properties have a sky-is-the-limit attitude toward creating events that build ties among its meetings guests and produce big ideas," the chain says in a news release.
These include:
—Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California offers several popular team-building activities such as Wine Blending, in which the group is divided into teams and provided the proper tools to blend a selection of high-end varietal wines of the local Napa Valley region. "In addition, the Sip & Cycle activity is a favorite, where participants are invited to enjoy the local surroundings via bike, while learning and tasting the various wines along the way," says the chain.
—Dolce Bad Nauheim in Germany offers their business guests a chance to get active with the local sports team. Business guests can practice with the local ice hockey team "Rote Teufel Bad Nauheim" for a workout after a long meeting day.
—Dolce Sitges in Barcelona, Spain gets their business guests involved by giving meeting attendees a taste of the destination’s local culture. The hotel’s signature Calcotada (Spanish translation for long, thick green onions) lunch introduces their guests to the local gastronomy, while also performing teambuilding exercises. They include the group being instructed how to properly clean and prepare the calcots to eat. Afterwards, the calcots are eaten informally at a family style table, encouraging conversation about the culinary adventure.
Dolce says it pioneered the "Complete Meetings Package," now embraced by many hotel companies and the International Association of Conference Centers as a standard.
The company is continuing to expand throughout the US and Europe. Downtown Indianapolis will welcome The Alexander in early 2013, and forthcoming European hotel launches are planned in Vittel, France, and Belas, Portugal.
