Dom Rep launches new show for overseas operators
The Dominican Republic is trying to encourage tourism to the north coast of the island with the launch of a new travel trade fare this October.
Starting on October 19, the three-day event will be held in Playa Cofresi on the outskirs of Puerto Plata on the Caribbean island’s north coast.
"Discover Pop 2012" is being organised by the Tourism Cluster of Puerto Plata and Ocean World Casino & Marina to bring together suppliers and international tour operators.
The island will also hold a trade show in November for the meetings industry in response to demands from meeting planners and incentive houses who called for an effective way to meet hoteliers, suppliers and marketing bodies in a limited amount of time.
DAME, the Dominican Annual Mice Exchange, will take place from November 15 to 18 in Punta Cana on the east coast.
