Dream trip is nothing less than a cruise around the world
So what’s the ultimate dream vacation? An around-the-world cruise.
So says a survey commissioned by AIG Travel Guard, a travel insurance company.
Almost half or 45% of Americans would pick the around-the-world voyages offered by various cruise lines as their dream trip if money were no object.
The around-the-world cruise beat out many land-based trips ranging from African safari’s to a Grand Tour of Europe.
“The finding was a byproduct of the survey, which had as its goal finding out if Americans were using all their vacation time,†said AIG.
The company also found that a third of Americans end up not using two or more of their vacation days each year. Another 13% say they were forced to cancel or postpone a vacation just last year due to a work related conflict.
AIG is trying to convince more people to use their vacation days (and buy the company’s insurance as well).
AIG points to World Tourism Organization numbers that show the average American only gets 13 vacation days as it is, half as much as Canadians and 15 fewer days than residents of Britain.
The survey of 735 American travelers was conducted for AIG by RUF Strategic Solutions.
