Drug bust flight crew released in Dominican Republic
A Canadian airline flight crew have been released after a drug bust. Five Pivot Airlines employees had been detained for nearly three weeks in the Dominican Republic.
Although released, they are on bail and must stay in the Dominican Republic. The nightmare began when they spotted contraband hidden on the plane. They reported it but when it turned out to be a cocaine shipment they were arrested.
The airline says there are ‘credible threats to the lives of our crew’ and warned people not to travel to the Dominican Republic.
