Dubai confirms rise in UK visitors
Dubai has seen a 6.6% increase in UK visitors over the past 12 months, said the Department of Tourism and Commence Marketing.
Last year a total of 685,629 visited the United Arab Emirate, up from 643,195 the previous year.
From the end of March, flight capacity will increase when Qantas will launch a twice daily flight to Dubai from London Heathrow, bringing the total number of weekly flights to 161.
Dubai Tourism’s UK & Ireland director Ian Scott said: "2013 will see developments throughout the destination including the addition of 4,000 beds across a range of four and five star hotels, 11,000 beds in planning and additional airlift, making the destination even more accessible to the UK consumer."
