Dubai tourism sees biggest surge in three years
Dubai Tourism saw a 27% year on year increase in UK visitors this August – the highest month on month increase in the last three years.
The total number of UK visitors in August 2014 was 70,815 compared to 55,767 in August 2013.
The tourism body said a large scale UK travel agent programme had heightened the exposure of the destination across the UK. .
Ian Scott, UK & Ireland director, Dubai Tourism, said: "The figure also illustrates the growing appeal of Dubai as a summer holiday destination and shows the success of our ‘Summer Is Dubai’ campaign, designed to drive greater awareness of what the emirate has to offer the UK market over the summer months.
"We ran this extensive advertising campaign directly in the consumer media to raise awareness of Dubai’s appeal specifically in the summer and combined it with a heavy tactical campaign run in conjunction with a series of our tour operator partners to push conversion."
