Dynamic packaging added by Asian chain
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts claims to be the first in Asia to introduce dynamic packaging to its website.
The luxury hotel group’s revamped website includes a dynamic packaging element called “Shangri-La Vacations” enabling online users to customise and choose from travel services such as flights, car rental, destination activities and accommodation packages in one location.
The Hong Kong-based chain of 47 hotels has also introduced a “best rate guarantee” on the www.shangri-la.com website.
It guarantees that no other website will be able to offer a better room rate at any Shangri-La hotel or resort than the rate available via its own website.
Should an online booker find a lower room rate elsewhere within 24 hours of making a reservation online, the hotel will not only match the lower rate but apply a further 10% discount.
Chief marketing officer Martin Waechter said: “We not only want to make our website one of the easiest avenues for making reservations, we want our customers to know that they will receive the best rate available.”
The revamped website features improved content and site navigation.
