E-Travel to power aircanada.com
Amadeus’ e-Travel has signed a five-year contract with Air Canada to power its website.
The technology solutions unit will provide Air Canada with online booking technology and services for its consumer and trade websites, set to relaunch this autumn. It will also provide offline faring services for Air Canada’s call centres.
The websites will be powered by e-Travel Planitgo, which includes FlexPricer, a recently launched product that enables web users to view multiple fares on a single screen. The Planitgo technology is used by over 50 airlines, according to Amadeus, and is available in 20 languages.
Scott Gutz, president and chief executive of e-Travel North America said: “Air Canada’s new business model sets an example for other network carriers struggling to compete with low-cost carriers in today’s travel market.
“Instead of taking a top-down price driven approach, Air Canada is offering customers simple tools to find the fares and schedules that best suit their plans.”
