Earl Turner brings “complete entertainment” back to New Orleans
On August 8, Harrah’s New Orleans will welcome famed entertainer Earl Turner back to Harrah’s Theatre for a limited engagement.
Turner relocated to Las Vegas after Hurricane Katrina, where he opened his own showroom, Sound Trax, at Palace Station in March 2006. Returning to New Orleans for first time in two years, Turner has high expectations for his time in the Crescent City.
“New Orleans is a place like no other, where entertainment is alive in the hearts of locals and opens the minds of all who visit the city,” said Turner. “My wife and I are looking forward to reconnecting with the great people of New Orleans and being a part of this spirited city again.”
The Earl Turner Show returns August 8 through September 1 with performances scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Harrah’s Theatre. Turner will be accompanied by an eight-member band led by Musical Director and bass player Chris Coleman. The band includes three locals: Walter Cunningham, keyboard; Mike Fulton, trumpet; and Danielle Mathis, vocalist. Rounding out the group are Curtis Wilson, drums; Al Robinson, sax; Steve Meyer, trombone; and Rich Taylor, guitarist.
Turner brings enthusiasm, passion and versatility to the stage. He enlivens his repertoire of songs, which range from rock to R&B, country and more, with touches of comedy and high-energy dance routines.
“The show is a complete entertainment experience, with lots of laughter as well as music,” said Turner. “I want people to leave the show feeling better than they did when they arrived. I think that’s something people in New Orleans will always appreciate. ”
Tickets for The Earl Turner Show start at just $20 each and Louisiana residents get $5 off the ticket price by presenting a state ID. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Harrah’s box office at 504-533-6600 and at www.Ticketmaster.com
