EasyJet and Go demand photo ID for domestic flights

Wednesday, 09 Apr, 2002 0

EasyJet and Go have introduced a new policy that means passengers over the age of 11 will not be allowed on domestic flights without a passport or photo ID.

In a statement released by Go, the airline said: “Although this is not currently a Government requirement, we believe that this extra security measure is in the interests of both passengers and airline staff.”

Go said they will only accept the following forms of photographic identification:

  • Passport
  • National Identity Card
  • Photo Driving Licence
  • Airport ID (issued by a recognised Airport, Airport Authority or Airline)
  • Services Identification with photo
  • EasyJet said that a child on a parent’s passport is an acceptable form of ID. Passengers travelling with young children are advised to have their child’s birth certificate available at check-in.

The documentary requirements for passengers on international flights will remain as before – ie. a valid passport or national identity card supported by any other relevant documentation such as visas.
