Easyjet and lowcostbeds under fire
EasyJet and lowcostbeds have come under fire for misleading customers with their hotel descriptions.
A customer claimed that none of the activities advertised at the Marinem Diana Hotel in Turkey, including Jacuzzis, billiards table, tennis courts and a fitness centre, were available during their holiday.
In addition they argued that the hotel was much further from the holiday resort of Kemer than stated and that the restaurant pictured and mentioned was not in use.
The Advertising Standards Authority upheld all five complaints against easyJet holidays, which were answered by lowcostbeds who acted as an agent providing accommodation and transfers for the operator.
Lowcostbeds disputed that the restaurant was unavailable but could not provide evidence.
The advertising watchdog said that the wording on the advert had to be changed and lowcostbeds must ensure they have substantiation for their claims in future.
