EasyJet boss to step down
EasyJet CEO Ray Webster is to leave the no-frills airline.
He is retiring early once a successor has been found after almost a decade with the airline.
Meanwhile, founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou is to rejoin the board of the carrier as a non-executive director.
Mr Webster had been due to leave next year but will go early as soon as a replacement has been recruited. He will stay in an advisory capacity until November 30.
He is quoted as saying: “I believe now is the appropriate time for the company to bring forward its succession planning process. The airline is in good shape, with a strong management tea, and dediacted people operating in dynamic markets, and I wish the easyJet team considerable future success.”
