EasyJet launches app with passport scanner
EasyJet claims to be the first European airline to introduce a passport scanning function to its mobile app.
The app now enables customers using an iOS or android device to scan their passport details using their mobile phone camera making it quicker to check in.
James Millett, easyJet’s head of digital, said: "We’ve developed the new function in partnership with credentials management service Jumio to ensure details can be scanned in easily, safely and securely. Combined with our mobile boarding passes customers can now check in on their mobiles up to 2 hours before flights in 110 of the airports easyJet fly to across Europe."
