Comtec and Datalex join forces to revolutionise flight sales by agents

Travel technology market leaders Comtec and Datalex have joined forces to create EasySell Flights – the industry’s first-ever system allowing agents to search and book every available category of airfare. Unrivalled in the industry, EasySell Flights will be revealed at this year’s World Travel Market.

The system, a combination of Comtec and Datalex technology, consolidates bookable flights from across charter, published, net fare, consolidator and low-cost carrier availability, all through a single, web-based interface.

The initiative between Comtec, the retail travel industry’s leading software provider, and Datalex, the foremost provider of e-business solutions to the global travel market, has brought two of the industry’s leading players to create this first all-in-one flight search and booking engine.

Comtec and Datalex have created a total of four versions of the system. These are EasySell Flights For Travel Agents – targeted at standard high street outlets and call centres; EasySell Flights Expert, for IATA-trained agents; EasySell Flights Net Fares, for consolidated fare specialists and EasySell Flights Consumer, a website white-label version of the breakthrough technology, allowing bricks and mortar and online agencies to sell every version of airfare through their websites.

Until now, agents have had to perform multiple flight searches across numerous reservations systems and solutions to acquire the air availability they need. EasySell Flights combines all enquiries through a single web interface – dramatically reducing the overall time spent on search and booking, while achieving the most comprehensive results for the end user. Comtec will take responsibility for marketing the solution to the trade over the coming months.

Simon Powell, group chief executive at Comtec said: “This exciting new initiative between Comtec and Datalex will revolutionise flight sales for agents, and create a more streamlined service for their customers. EasySell Flights will increase agency productivity and profitability like no other flight booking technology ever before.”

Powell continues: “As agents seek to expand their explosive tailor-made holiday market, they require systems that will help them to achieve this – EasySell Flights provides a major component in the chain.”

Damian Hickey, senior vice president of business development at Datalex added: “EasySell Flights will give traditional agency businesses and fare specialists more flexible and effective control over their flight offerings while strategically expanding their business models into internet-based distribution.

“Our partnership with Comtec will enable us to drive the maximum benefit from our respective technology offerings to deliver an affordable and much-needed industry solution, unmatched in this market space. The solution also has the ability to break into new markets, for example as a Digital TV platform.”

Additionally, EasySell Flights reduces administration time and costs by automating the transfer of booking data into Comtec’s TravelCat and other travel agency management systems.
