Eco resort offers de-stressing programs for meeting-goers
Sunrise Springs Resort Spa in Santa Fe makes the claim it is “committed to more and more ways to choose green, and in doing so is making it easy for meeting planners and meeting goers to fulfill their commitment to the environment.”
“The tranquility of the private 70-acre oasis allows participants to stay focused and relaxed at the same time,” the resort says.
The resort is built of reclaimed wood, mud and straw. Energy-saving light bulbs are another feature. Guest rooms feature pressure-reducing showerheads and organic made-in-room amenities. Other green features include:
- Organic, local and natural cuisine in the restaurant.
- An organic and biodynamic wine list.
- Complimentary organic and fair-trade coffee.
- Organic kitchen matter is composted for the gardens.
- A greenhouse used for vegetables and herbs.
- A chlorine-free swimming pool.
Programs offered here include Tai Chi and Yoga.
There’s also glazing and painting pre-made bisqueware, as well as hand-building in the Raku Pottery studio. Participants can work together to create personal stamps or a sake or tea bowl set to be presented as a commemorative gift.
