Economic crisis could hamper aircraft orders
European airlines may have to cancel aircraft orders due to the economic climate.
Tony Tyler, director-general of the International Air Transport Association told the Financial Times that the recession and difficulty in raising finance for the purchases could see some orders stopped.
He said: “I wouldn’t rule out that particularly European carriers would defer or cancel orders.”
The eurozone crisis has left many Europeans banks unable to secure funding in the US money markets because of concerns about their exposure to EU debt.
