eDreams earnings leap
European online travel company eDreams ODIGEO saw its pre-tax earnings rise by 17% to €88.7 million during the first nine months of the financial year.
Bookings were up 1% year on year, adjusted for the sale of its corporate travel and package tours business.
The OTA said it had seen a big increase in mobile bookings, which now represent 36% of total flight bookings compared with 30% in the third quarter of last year.
It said it was on track to meet the guidance, issued in November, when it said it expected bookings to top 11.7 million and pre-tax earnings of €118 million, which would be a 10% year on year growth.
CEO Dana Dunne said: "eDreams ODIGEO has delivered a better performance than we had planned. We are very pleased with the profitability achieved, which means we can continue to invest in a sustainable and attractive business, and provide unique value to consumers."
