Egencia rolls out online air exchange
Global travel management company Egencia has rolled out a post-ticketing online air exchange function for all clients.
The first of its kind tool for a major TMC, travelers can now make flight amendments themselves on desktop or mobile with any relevant fare changes and penalties instantly viewable.
Modifications are then quick and easy, Egencia says.
"Egencia aspires to meet its clients where they are and to deliver exceptional service where they expect it. When plans change, travelers turn to their devices – desktop or mobile – to find a solution. We make it easy for them to rebook the flight they need to close that deal, or make it home for the weekend," says Michael Gulmann, chief product officer at Egencia.
The function displays not only the cost of changing a ticket, but also available flight times within the same cabin class.
Payment method and previous seat preferences are then automatically applied to save precious time and hassle.
The new system is being presented with live demonstrations at the Business Travel Show in London taking place today and Thursday.
The 4th edition of the Egencia Business Travel and Technology survey found that half of travelers prefer to self-serve rather than having to call someone to manage their travel, when not experiencing difficulties.
