Elton John leads all-star line up at Tobago Jazz Festival
Music icon Sir Elton John, Mary J Blige, Diana Ross, Al Green, Gladys Knight, LL Cool J, Heather Headley, Earth, Wind and Fire as well as Beres Hammond are all performing at the third Plymouth Jazz Festival on the island of Tobago from April 27–29. This event is the only place you’ll hear swinging rock n roll, spiritual soul singing and rhythmic R&B together with such legendary musicians.
Set to be even bigger in 2007 than the two previous festivals, revellers are expected to catch the island fever and head to the Plymouth recreation ground to watch their idols perform live against the idyllic west coast backdrop of the world-renowned Turtle Beach in Southwest Tobago.
The open-aired venue features a performing stage with large screens so that all can capture every musical moment and each evening Elton John and friends will be joined by local leading traditional steelbands performers – so get your jazz hands ready to party. To ensure no one goes hungry with stalls offering an eclectic mix of diverse local and international fare which tastes best washed down by the locally produced rum.
For a well needed recovery head to one of the many beaches on the island for some down time and enjoy the Caribbean weather. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.tobagojazzfest.com as well as accommodation. Avail of the following offer at 3* Blue Waters Inn from £749 for 7 nights.
