The Federal Government has announced that they have approves Emirates’ application to increase its flights into Australia, allowing the Dubai based carrier to increase its Australian services to 84 over four years from the currently capped 49.
With Emirates having sought to increase to 112 services by 2014, the decision is considered to have been the effect of highly effective lobbying in Canberra including visits to Australia by Emirates Chairman and CEO HH Skeikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and talks in Dubai this week.
