Emirates Resort plan goes to Council
Plans for the multi million dollar Emirates Airlines Resort development were presented to Lithgow Council for consideration this week. Consultants for the airline delivered the formal draft concept for cosideration.
Council’s Planning and Environment Manager Andrew Muir said yesterday that the expected to have the extensive document on public display within a few days.
This is to allow local residents and the general public to have input before the final approvals are considered. While Lithgow Council will also have the same opportunity for input, the process differs from the routine development application as it will be the State Government and not Council who will be the consent authority.
This occurs as the project is to cost more than $30 million it has been designated a project of State significance. The Resort is expected to provide a major boost to the local community as well as setting new standards for environmentally sensitive tourism development.
Lithgow is approximately 2 hours drive west of Sydney.
