England may say knickers to Twickers
England may play home Test matches away from Twickenham in order to promote the 2015 World Cup across the country.
Organisers need to sell 2.9 million tickets for RWC 2015.
“There is a tremendous appetite to make sure this Rugby World Cup gets to as many corners of the country as we can take it,” said Andy Cosslett, the chairman of England 2015.
"Taking rugby outside the traditional rugby strongholds into places where we’re fighting the battle against Premiership football is something we see as a priority.”
Between 10 or 12 venues will stage World Cup matches in 2015 although the final selection has yet to be made.
Cardiff will definitely stage games, with Wales likely to play a minimum of two pool matches at the Millennium Stadium.
Tournament organisers would like to include London’s Olympic Stadium on the roster but the venue’s future is still under discussion.
The pool draw for RWC 2015 will take place on December 3.
