Ensemble shutting down Australia, NZ operations
Ensemble Travel Group is pulling out of the Australasian market.
Operations in Australia and New Zealand are being discontinued and the regional office in Sydney will close before next month.
The consortia expanded Down Under in 2015 but failed to gain ‘critical mass’ to make it a profitable part of the business.
The Sydney office has three employees including general manager for Australia and New Zealand, Katy Muyt.
Ensemble said it will reach out to local members in the coming days and expects to complete formalities by the end of April.
The closure doesn’t affect the core North America operations.
"While we are disappointed that this expansion effort didn’t grow in the manner which we had hoped, we want to convey our sincere appreciation to the team who worked passionately to build the business halfway around the world," said David Harris, CEO of Ensemble Travel Group.
Established more than half a century, the member-owned organization has more than 800 member agencies in the US and Canada.
