Etihad launches charter flight service

Sunday, 28 Dec, 2020 0

Gulf carrier Etihad Airways has unveiled a dedicated charter flight service.

The airline says it is a ‘fully customisable’ service for ‘a variety of flight options, including a dedicated passenger service, cargo-only flight or a combined passenger and cargo package.’

It is not a new option for the airline which has flown over 500 charters this year, including government and humanitarian flights.

The airline has operated one-off sports charters teams including Manchester City FC, as the team’s main sponsor.

It is now promoting the service, as the pandemic continues to upend scheduled air travel.

"While the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact the commercial aviation industry, charter flights provide a convenient alternative to travel, providing customers with the flexibility to choose the departure time, destination and routing," said Alex Featherstone, Etihad’s Vice President of Network Planning and Alliances.

Charter flights include Etihad’s Etihad Wellness initiative which comprises an industry-first, specially trained Wellness Ambassadors, as well as global Covid-19 insurance cover for all passengers.
