Eurostar carryings up 19%
Eurostar carryings rose by 19% to 3.4 million in the first half of 2004.
Sales increased by 16% to £214 million over the first six months of 2003.
The high-speed Channel Tunnel passenger service claimed a 57% markets share on London-Brussels, up from 45%. London-Paris share is claimed to be up 5% to 65%. London-Lille passengers numbers rose by 16% due to the French city’s European Capital of Culture status.
Eurostar said 89% of trains arrived on time or early in the first half, an improvement on 77% a year ago.
