Eurostar lays on ‘Love Trains’ for Valentine breaks

Sunday, 26 Jan, 2009 0

Eurostar will run extra trains to Paris for Valentine’s breaks, and also for Scottish rugby fans to travel to the Six Nations Rugby match.

The extra ‘Love Train’ services are possible because the Channel Tunnel repairs, following last year’s fire, are expected to be completed on February 10.

This has enabled the insertion of extra services into the timetable before the reintroduction of a full Eurostar service from February 23.

Eurostar’s communications director Simon Montague said: “No recession can quell passion, whether it’s for cross-Channel romance or rugby union.

“It will be an eclectic mix of passengers on the Love Trains – and whether it’s a passion for a fellow passenger or the game ahead, we expect the atmosphere on board to highly charged.”
