Eurostar slashes Paris-London journey time
Eurostar has announced that it plan to cut the travel time between Paris and London by 20 minutes and set a new record on Britain’s new high-speed track.
The train will hit a top speed of 186 miles [299.3 km] per hour carrying journalists and officials from Paris Gare du Nord to London’s St Pancras International station rather than Waterloo.
The move to St Pancras from Waterloo takes place on November 14 and will slash the journey time on Eurostar from the usual 2 hours 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes on the new route.
Building the 68-mile High Speed 1 line and refitting London’s St Pancras station cost £5.8 billion.
