Eurotunnel cuts cost for frequent users
Eurotunnel is offering fares of under £40 to travellers that stay loyal to the service.
The frequent traveller scheme offers low rates from £39 for a car and passengers for people willing to purchase ten single crossings at once. Off-peak fares apply to crossings from Folkestone to Calais between 15.00 and 04.59, and from Calais to Folkestone from midnight to 14.59.
It costs between £20 and £30 more per journey to travel at peak times.
As operators of the Channel Tunnel, Eurotunnel faces tough competition from ferry companies to attract passengers travelling by car. And with the rise of no-frills airlines and competition from Eurostar and full service schedule airlines competing for foot traffic to France, ferry operators are keener than ever to boost numbers of passengers travelling with cars.
Eurotunnel hopes its new scheme will lure frequent visitors to France such as Brits with properties across the Channel.
In order to apply for the scheme customers need to register on the website, www.eurotunnel.com or call 08705 35 35 35. Crossing times and dates do not need to be booked at once, and can be done online or over the phone using an account number and password.
