Taiwan’s EVA Airways has announced a new upcoming route connecting Taoyuan and popular Thai tourist city Chiang Mai.

Daily flights will kick off on July 1 on Airbus A321-200 aircraft featuring eight business class and 176 economy seats.

Flight time is approximately three hours.

The main air and tourist hub of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is hugely popular and was recognised as a top 25 best travel destination by Trip Advisor.

Chiang Mai International Airport handles about 10 million passengers a year and has snagged a number of high profile direct international routes in recent times.

These include nonstop Qatar Airways flights from Doha, and nearly a dozen routes from mainland China.
