Evason Opens Unique Resort

Sunday, 19 Jan, 2007 0

The Evason Brand of Six Senses Resorts & Spas has opened a very unique addition to the line up of properties that are Redefining Experiences. Comprising nineteen French colonial-style villas, most of which were built early in the 20th century, the resort overlooks the picturesque Vietnam highland city of Dalat, and creates an experience unlike anything to be found elsewhere in Asia.

Every villa of the Evason Ana Mandara at Dalat is architecturally different, most often reflecting the French locale from which the individual settler originated. Phase one sees the culmination of a three-year restoration project which lovingly recreated the original ambience enhanced with materials and finishes input from the Six Senses creative team. Initially, 5 villas comprising 19 luxurious suites, studios and rooms will be introduced. Each villa has its own private dining and living room area and also has a dedicated butler and housekeeper to service guests during their stay.

One complete villa will deliver guest dining experiences. The main restaurant, Nine – named after the villa’s original street address – offers inside and outside dining with the focus on modern European-Asian fusion cuisine. Spectacular high ceilings, enormous French-style shutters on windows and doors, a large central fireplace and a blend of modern uplifting and classical décor recreate a marvellous ambience.

Wine Bar @ Nine is classy and chic. A stylish bar offering extensive wine and beverage choices in a relaxed, heritage-style atmosphere. Courtyard Café @ Nine occupies a large outdoor area with a relaxed feel resembling something of a French-style café with a Vietnamese flavour. On offer will be extensive coffee and hot drink selections as well as light meal choices such as patisseries and baguettes.

In-Villa dining guests have the option of dining in their room or in the dining room of the villa, or at the garden barbecue area. Extensive villa dining options are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests may also relax in the heated pool area with drinks and a menu of light food.

The second phase of the project will see one entire villa becoming a Six Senses Spa. In the meantime, guests receive a truly sensational Six Senses Spa experience with an extensive range of treatments offered from temporary quarters in two stunning suites, until completion of the spa villa in early 2007. The Six Senses Gallery brings a wide choice of gift items including unique products from Vietnam with emphasis on the Dalat region.

A full range of excursions and activities will offer choices such as the Coffee Addicts Adventure and Adrenaline Junkie. A Stagecoach Champagne Lunch will include a ride around Dalat by horse and cart enjoying a gourmet champagne picnic lunch, while Vintage Car Adventures will offer city tours in one of our 1930’s classic Citroens. Choose from hard top or cabriolet. The tours will give an insight into the history of Dalat, its architecture and its beauty. Yoga at the Pagoda is early morning yoga at one of Dalat’s famous Pagoda. There are also many picnic options outside the resort that will be available for private outings.

With the completion of phase two in April 2007, a total 40 accommodations will be completed, and with phase three on line at the beginning of June 2007, Evason Ana Mandara Villas at Dalat will comprise 70 accommodations. Due to the nature of the property and the fact the buildings are being restored internally there will be no major construction visible to guests during the completion of phase two and three.

The resort also has an incredible discounted ALL industry rate to the resort for travel until 31 March 2007. Contact your preferred interline company or World Resorts of Distinction on +61 7 5590 8088 or [email protected] for more details.
