Ex-Qantas manager joins Air New Zealand UK sales team
Air New Zealand has appointed ex-Qantas manager Chris Rankin to the new role of UK sales development, commercial and distribution manager.
Immediately prior to joining Air New Zealand, Rankin was general manager of Cruise 1st in Australia, a start up online retail agency owned by Royal Carribean Cruise Lines.
He was previously leisure sales manager for UK and Ireland for Qantas Airways in the UK until 2006, when he moved to Qantas Holidays as general manager UK before being seconded to Qantas Holidays in Australia as general manager commercial. Following the merger with Jetset Travelworld Group, he became general manager wholesale for Jetset Travelworld Group.

In his newly-created role at Air New Zealand, he will be responsible for all UK indirect and direct sales as well as direct sales across the airline’s key Continental European markets. He reports Chris Myers, general manager, Europe.
