Former Thomas Cook head of sales John Warr is to join Wendy Wu Tours in the same role.

Warr, who spent seven years in the position at Thomas Cook but was most recently regional sales manager at furniture and household goods group Steinhoff International, will also manage Wendy Wu’s reservations team.

Mark Harris, the company’s senior business development manager will report to Warr, who joins the company on Monday.

Wendy Wu said the appointment of Warr "will effectively create a very strong business unit that will own and manage all aspects of the company’s sales and distribution platforms including online sales".

Commenting on the appointment, MD Laurence Hicks said: "I have for some time felt the business would benefit from a restructure allowing for ownership and responsibility for the company’s sales targets to be in one division and under one senior figure.

"John’s appointment allows for this and I greatly look forward to working with him and to the contribution he will undoubtedly make to Wendy Wu Tours."
