Ex-Thomas Cook manager launches own travel agency
Former Thomas Cook regional business manager, Joanne Dooey, has set up her own travel agency, which has become the first in Scotland to operate under the Advantage Managed Services scheme.
Dooey has recruited three former colleagues to work in Love to Travel, located in Coatbridge, near Glasgow.
"The timing was just right for me and I have managed to open a shop where I know there is great demand for travel agency services," said Dooey, who has 26 years experience in the industry.
"Recruiting my former colleagues has been a real bonus and they will be a fantastic asset to the business. It’s been a busy time ensuring everything is up and running."
The agency plans to specialise in the family market as well as servicing long-haul and cruise bookings. It will also be offering a gift service for the honeymoon market.
