Exceptional Travel buys long-haul rival
Luxury tour operator Exceptional Travel has acquired long-established fellow Wiltshire-based Africa travel specialist J&C Voyageurs.
Despite competing since Exceptional’s launch in 2009, the company said there was very little overlap between the two operators.
Toby Warren, MD of Exceptional Travel, said: "Having operated for over 28 years and being one of the original safari specialists in individually tailored African travel, J&C Voyageurs have built an enviable name for themselves and we are delighted to welcome them into the Exceptional Travel fold."
He said the investment made ‘absolute sense’ in terms of Exceptional’s growth plans.
"Both the product and demographic fit between the two companies is very strong, we share the same ethos and approach to delivering our holidays and we believe that combining a wider destination choice, with our own incredibly high standards of service, will result in an even better experience for all of our clients going forwards," he added.
Michael and Julia Parker, outgoing directors of J&C Voyageurs, said: "We are delighted to have discovered in Toby Warren, founder of Exceptional Travel, someone who cares as much as we do about the way clients are looked after and who shares our high standards of integrity and experience in delivering tailor-made travel.
"With J&C Voyageurs now joining Exceptional Travel, our clients will be offered an innovative array of fabulous holidays, friendly advice and in depth knowledge of a global range of destinations whilst retaining the very personal service that both company’s reputations have been built on through the years."
