Exchange rate boosts Virgin
The weak dollar has helped fuel sales to the US and triggered the launch of Virgin Holidays biggest ever programme of snow-based holidays
The operator claimed winter sales rose 25% on last year forcing a capacity re-think for next 2005/06.
To cater for demand, new resorts of Steamboat, Aspen and Copper Mountain in Colorado, Smugglers Notch in New England and Fernie and Jasper in Canada have all been added.
Product manager Angus Bond said: “We saw some extremely good sales for our snow product last season. A variety of new destinations, competitive prices, free offers and undoubtedly the dollar exchange rate helped drive these strong sales.”
