Expedia rolls out curated ‘Collections’ for themed vacations
Expedia has introduced ‘Collections’, a new curated resource to help travelers find the perfect hotel for every type of experience.
It has started with a list of six themes – Beach, Relaxation, Family Fun, Culture & History, Shopping and Snow.
The selected hotels have been included based on guest reviews, value, proximity, and amenities relevant to the category.
For example, the Relaxation section lists the top 10 hotels in each destination, such as Napa Valley, Palm Springs and Maui, as the best places for spa getaways.
Culture & History covers European hotspots Athens, Prague and Barcelona, as well as New Orleans, Boston and Savannah.
"From Hong Kong to Milan, indulge in a shopper’s paradise, from local crafts to world-famous stores," Expedia says of the curated shopping-themed hotels.
"We know travelers spend an immense amount of time researching accommodations, from reading reviews to checking multiple sites for peace of mind on the price, location and quality, we created ‘Collections’ to do all that work for you," says Dan Reed, Expedia’s vice president of merchandising.
"These are all hotels which are backed by our customer reviews, fit the type of holiday the customer is looking for and are great value, helping travelers find the best hotel for every experience."
The initial six Collections are ‘just the tip of the iceberg’ with more curated lists on the way in the near future.
