Expedia-Sofitel deal a ‘milestone’
French chain Sofitel is to become available via Expedia and hotels.com websites.
The company, with almost 200 properties, is the prestige brand of Accor.
A direct connection will be established aimed at reducing the cost of each transaction booked through Expedia.
The deal, covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa, follows already established arrangements between the hotel company and Expedia in North America and Australia.
Expedia partner service group president Paul Brown said: “This relationship reinforces Expedia’s position as the online sales and marketing partner for leading hotel groups worldwide.”
Sofitel managing director Yann Caillere described the partnership as an “important milestone” for the international distribution of its hotels.
