Explora Journeys celebrates double ship milestone
Just weeks after the delivery of first ship EXPLORA I, Explora Journeys is celebrating more key milestones.
Construction of the fleet is further progressing with the float out of EXPLORA II and the steel cutting of EXPLORA III.
They were celebrated during a double event at Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard near Genoa.
The new line has plans for a total of four ships.
Michael Ungerer, CEO, Explora Journeys said, “The double event marks another major step forward.”
EXPLORA II enters service next summer.
Construction began in October 2021.
EXPLORA II will spend an inaugural season in the Mediterranean.
EXPLORA III is slated to enter service in summer 2026.
It will be the first Explora ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
In January 2024, construction will begin on a second LNG ship, EXPLORA IV.
This will be completed in early 2027.
