FAA investigating Orlando Airport near miss
The Federal Aviation Administration is probing a near miss incident at Orlando Airport.
The planes came within ‘close proximity’, the agency said.
A close pass occurred between a Delta jet and a Cessna as the planes departed the airport in mid-August, the FAA said.
There was no collision and no injuries reported.
“The Cessna departed from Runway 36-Left a short time before the Delta flight was cleared to depart from Runway 35-Left,” the FAA said.
The planes were about 500 feet vertically from each other.
“The pilots of both aircraft reported having the other in sight,” the agency added
