FAA outage; Delta CEO calls for more FAA funding
Delta Air Lines’ boss slammed the FAA outage as ‘unacceptable’ but doesn’t blame the under fire aviation agency.
Ed Bastian says the crash of the Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system is down to under-funding.
“We are not giving them the funding, the staffing, the tools, and the technology they need,” Bastion told CNBC.
The FAA outage caused the grounding or delay of over 10,000 flights.
It was caused by a corrupt data file.
American Airlines CEO Rob Isom also agreed the FAA needs more funding.
“It’s going to be billions and it’s not something that’s done overnight,” he said.
