Fairfield by Marriott set to open seven Japan hotels
Fairfield by Marriott plans seven new openings in 2022 across four prefectures in Japan: Nara, Hokkaido, Hyogo, and Okayama.
Together with these seven planned openings, the Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki project is expected to expand its portfolio to a total of 21 hotels across nine prefectures in the country by the end of the year.
The Michi-no-Eki project is a collaboration with Sekisui House that began in 2018.
The Fairfield by Marriott hotels are located near roadside rest stations called “Michi-no-Eki” in Japan, situated close to national parks and UNESCO World Heritage sites.
“We are very excited to continue to expand the Fairfield portfolio across Japan in collaboration with Sekisui House,” said Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific (excluding China.
“We have seen great success with 14 Fairfield by Marriott hotels already open across five prefectures.”
Hotels anticipated to open in 2022 include Fairfield by Marriott Nara Tenri Yamanobenomichi, Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Eniwa, Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Naganuma and Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Minamifurano.
“We are pleased to expand our footprint to northern and southern Japan, offering travelers access to remote destinations in the country,” said Masahiro Taguchi, Project Director of Fairfield by Marriott’s Michi-no-Eki portfolio.
